Object Analysis Paper
Write a 5-page paper on the two objects on reserve in the library. The paper should include a brief description, deduction, and speculative analysis of both objects in relation to one another. How are these objects made? What are their functions? Though the objects you are examining are empty, think about the contents they are designed to hold. How do people use them, open them? How do they dispose of them? What do they say about America's consumer culture? In addition to using the objects as the starting point for your paper, you are expected to use at least three primary and three secondary sources (not including Internet sources), as well as the assigned reading for January 29 (Gilborn, "Pop Pedagogy") to find additional information about the object. You are encouraged to analyze the objects in groups, but you are responsible for writing your own analyses in your paper.
Due January 29, 2009.
