Student Groups Plankton and food webs Circulation and Chemical Tracers Sediment and benthos This year’s group project is:
See the class web page for due dates for each component of the project. You have some freedom within the boundaries of the assigned topic. You also have all the tools aboard the R/V Thompson and within the academic equipment of the Oceanography department. Let your imagination freely explore things you’d like to study on the cruise. The manuscript should be a blending of background information and scientific exploration. Think of it as a version of a Scientific American or National Geographic article. Photos are okay. Your audience is a college-educated adult, or a science-minded highschooler. In addition to writing your manuscript, you will review the manuscripts of the other groups. Assignments will be made later on in the quarter. Finally, during the last week of class, your group will present a 10-minute overview of your manuscript and your group experiences. |
