Qualitative Methods in Educational Research (2006-2007)

Study Groups

Early in the Autumn Quarter, and continuing through the Spring Quarter, students will be assigned to small groups, which will meet separately for an hour and a half each week at a time of the group members' choosing. The small groups will be composed of students with compatible topical and methodological interests. Our expectation is that the study groups will act as a support mechanism and as a setting for students to discuss further what they are learning and apply it to their projects. Students will act as advisors for each other, in addition to receiving help on their own projects.

During Spring Quarter, students should meet weekly with their study groups.  These groups will spend the bulk of the quarter concentrating on issues of analysis and report writing.  Students should set the schedule for these groups by the end of the first class and communicate that schedule to the instructors.
