Spring 2008: Marketing/Operations OM490

"You know you have achieved perfection in design," Antoine de Saint Exupery, the great adventurer, pilot and author, wrote, "not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing more to take away"

"You now have to decide what 'image' you want for your brand. Image means personality. Products, like people, have personalities, and they can make or break them in the market place."- David Ogilvy

This is a course in Marketing and Operations Management. We will use Seattle as a laboratory for understanding supply chains and operational models of apparel design and manufacture. As we will learn, Seattle has a long history of apparel manufacture. Most importantly, providing an overlying focus will be the course project: the study of a single garment, from initial concept to final design.
