Homework due on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 @ class.
Hand this in as a team
I tend to front load my courses, but for this special time, I ease the throttle for the first week of class. The class is light and fun to allow you to catch your breath before we hit the throttle on Monday October 10.
On Wednesday, October 4, various companies will be pitching potential projects. During the second part of class, it will be a "carnival" in which various company reps will be stationed all over the basement level and your team will rove and ask questions.
I. Team Documents
I want two things: a team peer evaluation form and a team
contract. These don't have to be long. They aren't
graded but I want the team contract signed by all available team members.
It should express what is expected of team members and the learning or
professional objectives of the team for this course.
The peer evaluation should include a numerical score. I
don't require a forced system in which you rob Peter to
reward Paul.
II. Statement of Experience
I'm curious about two simple items:
1. Your team should have a paragraph on the experience resident in your group. Is it full of experienced traditionally trained operations folks, or is it full of newbies?
2. This team should express their topical priorities. Is there something special you want to learn?
III. Company Due Diligence
Assuming you don't already have a project reserved, the following is to help focus your group on efficiently creating a ranked ordering on your project choices..
1) What questions will be asked of each visitor? Who will
ask them?
2) What impressions do you want to make on each visitor? Remember, they're
also putting a bug into my ear too.
3) Your team will be submitting a ranked ordering of choices. How will your team
arrive to a rank ordering of the projects?
