These policies need to be explained to clients at the beginning of the quarter in the spirit of having everybody on the same page and avoiding confusion and/or conflicts later in the quarter.

Late Appointment Policy

• clients are asked to be on time for appointments
• if a client is 10 minutes late, the student should call them to find out the situation
• if a client is 20 minutes late, the session can be cancelled

• clients are asked to cancel a minimum of 24 hours prior to the appointment
• if  3 consecutive therapy sessions, or a total of 4 sessions per quarter are missed, services may be discontinued to that client
• the decision is at the discretion of the supervisor and clinic director
• usually if a client misses/cancels the session the student is not obligated to make that session up
• if the student cancels the session, the student is responsible for offering to make it up

• clients are asked to pay at the time services were received
• if necessary other payment options need to be worked out with the front desk

• do not loiter in the reception area
• if your client is not in the reception area go wait in the materials room -
• you can ask the front desk to call you when your client arrives
• or you can periodically go out and look (but don't continuously peek around the corner)
