Of the three research sites, site B had the most D. auratus sightings. Site B was located 9 meters from the stream, between site A and C. The location closest to the small river, Site C, resulted in zero D. auratus spotted. The two highest AM and PM temperatures at all research sites resulted in zero sightings. The presence of rain or overcast skies made the spotting of D. auratus 2.5 times more likely. Temperatures 26 degrees Celsius and higher resulted in no D. auratus being sighted.
