Mouth with barbels.

Note tiny slime gland openings in skin along lower 1/3 of body.

Disk mouth with keratinized teeth.

Juveniles showing dorsal & caudal fins, large eyes. Pineal eye shows up as white spot in upper specimen.

Ventral view of embryo showing egg sac; This group is ovoviviparous.

Nose has been bent downward in this shark as a result of storage. Light shows the roughness of skin from microscopic placoid scales.
