Final Project Presentation
You've all been working hard to design your final project website and this
is your chance both to showcase that work for the class and to give me a favorable
first impression of the completed website I'll soon be grading.
The Task
You will each give an 8-10 minute presentation of your work on your final project
website. If you have been working collaboratively on your site, you will want
to coordinate your presentation with the other member(s) of your group but you
will each be expected to speak for 8-10 minutes and you will each be evaluated
individually.
Advice
- Plan ahead: Know your goals for this presentation and the main points you
want to get across. Prepare notes as a safety net, but practice enough
that you don't think you'll need them.
- Practice: The only way to know how a presentation will look and sound or how long it
will take is to practice. Do it alone or with an audience (or compromise with
a video camera), but don't give your presentation for the first (or second, or third) time in front
of the entire class.
- Be engaging: Think about your audience as you prepare for and practice
this presentation. What will we be interested to know about your work? What will
you need to show us so that we can best understand what you are saying? How will
you capture and hold our attention?
- Be professional: Make the most of this opportunity to present your work
by looking and acting the part of someone who is prepared to impress.
Evaluation
This presentation will be graded on both content and delivery as part of your
final project.
