The patient is at moderate risk of fracture compared to whom? She is almost exactly average for her age, and therefore she does not have any increased risk compared to other women her age. The orthopedic surgeon already knew she was 70.
She was very worried about her risk and didn't want to have surgery until I told her she was average for her age. The operation was performed with relief of her back pain.
