Under the authority of section 112(r) of
the Clean Air Act, the Chemical Accident Prevention Plan Provisions require facilities that produce, handle,
process, distribute, or store certain chemicals to develop a Risk Management
Program, prepare a Risk Management Plan (RMP), and submit the Risk Management Plan
to EPA. Regulated facilities were initially required to comply with the rule in
1999, and the rule has been amended on several occasions since then, most
recently in 2004. Beginning in 2009, EPA will provide new software called RMP*eSubmit for facilities to use for RMP reporting.
RMP*Comp is a free software program you
can use to complete the offsite human health risk consequence analyses (both worst case
scenarios and alternative scenarios) required under the EPA’s Risk Management
Program rule. When you use RMP*Comp, you don't need to make any calculations by
hand and the software program guides you through the process of making a risk analysis. RMP*Comp is available for Windows and
Macintosh.

The current version is RMP*Comp 1.07.
This version was posted on October 29, 2001. It corrects bugs found in previous
versions and modifies some functionality. If you have been using an earlier
version of the RMP software, you should Download
RMP*Comp, Version 1.07. Because the recommended RMP consequence
analysis procedures may change in the future, please check this web page before
you begin a consequence analysis to be sure that you are using the latest
version of RMP*Comp.
