Remove the two 3/8" muffler bolts, use the 3/8"
open end wrench. Once the bolts have been removed, slide
the muffler off as depicted:
Disconnect the Kill Switch
Wire from the Magneto using the needle-nose
pliers if necessary.
Carefully bend the retainer
clips until they are flat using the needle nose pliers.
Remove the Governor Blade, do not
disconnect the springs or arms attached to the blade.
Unbolt the two Intake Manifold bolts
using the 3/8" open-end wrench. They are located
next to the Exhaust Port where the muffler was
attached.
Remove the 3/8" mounting bolt for the fuel system
located at the base of the engine. This can be
accomplished using the 3/8" socket and ratchet.
The fuel system including the Gas Tank, Air
Filter, Governor, Throttle Control, and Governor Blade
can now be removed. Place the assembly out of the way carefully
as it will not be examined during the lab.
