Copulative Transformations

The following are simple copulative sentences. Re-write each of them using transitive verbs with predicate complements, retaining as much of the original meaning as possible and making only the changes that are necessary to bring about the specified transformation.

EXAMPLE:    Pepe es jefe de la empresa.  --->  A Pepe le han nombrado jefe de la empresa.

    1. Los ministros están preocupados a causa de la crisis económica.

    2. Me estoy volviendo loco.

    3. María es una persona seria.

    4. José está triste y confuso a causa de la muerte de su mujer.

    5. Las hijas de Bernarda están locas porque Pepe les interesa mucho.
