Sound and Video

Video is not used in the site although the QuickTime panoramas can make it feel as if it is.

Sound files are used extensively. The audio portion of the site is recorded directly from the live tours given at the museum. The listener hears street noise, tourists fidgeting, and the guide candidly answering questions. This informal approach allows the listener to relate to the urban setting of the museum. I understand that the purpose of this type of audio is to fully recreate the tour experience, however, I do not agree with the approach. There is no reason that the background noises or the random questions of other tourists should be included and I found that they did not contribute to my experience at all. A simple narration by one of the tour guides would have been sufficient.
