This site is designed to enable researchers access to the resources for the history of Modern Turkish Literature (1923-) in English.

The bibliographical data which will be put on this site paves the way to discover the story of a literature in a foreign language. A literature in translation has several aspects to be investigated. The formation of a canon in a foreign language, the choices of the translated texts, the publishers of these texts, are only some of these aspects.

This site is a part of a research project which is aiming to delineate the dynamics of translating from Turkish literature into English. The result of this project will hopefully be related not only to the literature under investigation, but it will also improve our understanding of the production and transmission of literature in the world today.
