Electrodiagnostic studies (NCS/EMG)

Findings: Abnormal study. Surface EMG of leg and trunk musculature show inability to relax paired agonist/antagonist muscle groups in the trunk and legs suggestive of a syndrome of continuous motor unit activity or hyperexcitability. There is no evidence of a generalized peripheral neuropathy, myopathy or neuronopathy.
