As it is early in the quarter and many of you may have only just
started MATH124, below is a few pages summarizing a geometrical
interpretation of derivatives, and defining some notation.
I gave a brief introduction to integrals in class on Wednesday (Jan 9).
In the next few weeks we'll begin discussing derivatives
and integrals in progressively more
detail, so that even students who are only enrolled in MATH124 will
(hopefully) have the necessary background for chapters 6 to 13 of HRK.
