I am stuck on how to solve prblem 44 in chapter 6 -- all the methods I've tried don't seem to be correct intuitively. Could you give me some starters on how to go about doing this problem?

Prof. Seidler responds:

Draw a free body for each of the moments when the car is at the highest point on the crest and the lowest point in the dip. Apply newton's second law to both situations, remember that you have a net acceleration toward the center of each respective 'circle'. When you go to component equations, you should then have enough information to solve all parts of the problem.
