Some comments on WebAssign. Significant Figures: WebAssign checks that your answer is within 1% of the answer it calculates with your random numbers. This means you often need to calculate your answer to three significant figures, even though the elements of the problem are only given to 1 or 2 significant figures. Formula Help: WebAssign has a help feature for formatting answers.
Interactive Examples: "HELP" is extensive. It will guide you through a conceptual analysis of the problem. It is recommended that you do these first. These must be done on-line. Regular problems: Here, the "HELP" is just hints of how to approach a problem (e.g., "break down your vectors into components"). In these problems, the numbers are randomized by your student number. You can get a "printer friendly" version of these problems to work on away from the computer. Problems logging on? Contact Susan Miller at susanh82@phys.washington.edu
