Course Description 

This course will survey the history of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from the Viking Age to the present, with particular attention to contacts Between the East Baltic and Scandinavia.   Class discussion will include critical analysis of primary and secondary sources.

Grades

Final grades will be assigned as follows:  

  • 25% quizzes, discussion, two source critiques (500 words each) ;  
  • 25% Final Examination (Monday, March 17, 2006, 2:30-4:20)
     
  • 25% Historiographic essay (1000 words) 
  • 25% Research paper (2000 words)
