Field School Costs and Application
Costs:
The tentative program fee for 2009 is $6000. The program fee includes tuition and instructional costs, all lodging and meals, local transportation, archaeology equipment and supplies. The program fee does NOT include airfare, personal expenses or the additional fees assessed by IPE. In addition to the program fee, all program participants will pay an International Programs & Exchanges (IPE) fee of $200. Non-UW students will pay an additional fee of $200. Some scholarships may be available, and most forms of financial aid can be applied to this program. Contact IPE for information.

Payments will be charged to participants’ UW student accounts and will be payable to UW Student Fiscal Services in 129 Schmitz Hall or via MyUW according to the following payment schedule:
UW students:
$350 non-refundable deposit - due upon receipt of contract
$500 program fee payment due October 31, 2008
$5150 program fee balance due January 23, 2009
$200 IPE fee, due January 23, 2008
Total fees due for UW students: $6200
Students from other universities:
$350 non-refundable deposit - due upon receipt of contract
$500 program fee payment due October 31, 2008
$5150 program fee balance due Dec. 5 2008
$200 non-matriculated student fee due Dec. 5, 2008
Total fees due for non-UW students: $6400
Students from Southeast Asian universities:

Application Procedures:
Enrollment for this program is restricted to ten students in 2009. Applicants must submit a detailed application form and complete an interview with the instructor. Application deadline is October 15, 2008. Application forms can be downloaded by clicking here.

Withdrawal Policy:
A student withdrawing from the program by November 15, 2008 will be refunded all but the non-refundable $350 program deposit. Any student withdrawing from the program after this deadline will be liable for any non-recoverable payments already made or committed on behalf of the participant, which could range from the non-refundable program deposit up to the entire program fee. No refunds will be given once the program begins. Notice of withdrawal from the program must be made in writing to both the IPE Office and the Department of Anthropology.
