The second set of animations are based on histomorphometric measurements, where the mineralized bone is green and the osteoid is red. This is approximately what you would see in 2mm of trabecular bone. The volume, surfaces, and formation rates are drawn to scale. The darkness of the green is meant to show approximate mineralization density but is not directly related to the density measurements.
