There are two kinds of homework:

Each week, students will do the assigned readings, and submit a short (2 pages max) "thought essay" on a self-selected topic related to the readings.

In addition, students will work on a quarter-long assignment to explore the possibility of bringing Tent City to the University of Washington campus. We will work in class to break this assignment into smaller pieces and students will form work groups to take on the task.
