Class Mailing List: <ee420a_sp12 at u.washington.edu> Textbook: J.G. Proakis, M. Salehi, G. Bauch, Contemporary Communication Systems Using MATLAB, 3rd edition, Cengage Engineering, 2012. Software: Matlab and Simulink files Course Description: Design and implementation of basic communication system modules and an end-to-end system using Matlab and Simulink toolboxes. The course focuses on developing your skill set to develop process and solutions to meet design and system performance requirements. Work is carried out individually or in teams, and documented in reports and presentations. Class meets for two lectures a week. For the most part, students will work on lab projects. Prerequisite: An inquisitive mind, knowledge of linear systems theory in discrete and continuous time (EE235, EE341), digital communication systems (EE 417), and MATLAB programming experience.
