Why does
housing matter? “Everyone has the right to a standard of
living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including
food, clothing, housing and
medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the
event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack
of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.” -

Human Rights, Article 25 Why do refugees
have a right to come to the US? ”Everyone
has the right to seek and enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.” -
United Nations Universal Declaration of
Human Rights, Article 14 Housing is one of the
basic needs for human existence. It is
this basic need that makes it one of the most valuable human commodities.
When refugees enter a new country they are one of the most vulnerable groups
because they are (1) fleeing from persecution in their origin country, and
(2) attempting to adjust to a new life. Often these refugees trust the |
