Required Deliverables for Final Project

There are five parts to the final project.  The parts description, point value and respective due dates are presented below. All students in the group will receive the same score resulting from the assessment of each part.

1.         Status Report 1: Problem Statement and Database Design (10 points) – due February 22 (AC) and February 23 (AA)

Problem statement

A reasonably complete project description includes:

o                                                        a. A background problem statement of 1/2 to 1 page describing the scope and focus of the project.

o                                                        b. An annotated bibliography of at least five literature references supporting the background statement issues connected to the project.

o                                                        c. A well-formed research question with connection to the background problem statement.

o                                                        d. A list of feature data classes to be used in the project.   Remember that “nouns” within the research question tend to be feature classes.

o

Database design (Overview of geodatabase development process)

This report will consist of two items:

·                                                         a. Table that contains three columns: feature class names or raster layer names, definitions, and data source references

·         Note: WAGDA is not a direct reference, please use the actual organization name that provided the data.

o                                                        b. Class diagram in the same style as the data(base) models at ESRI data model website.

2.         Status Report 2: Workflow Operations Design (5 points) – due Feb 29 (AC) and March 1 (AA)

o                                                        a. Refined class diagram, with a table of attributes for each of the feature classes.

o                                                        b. Class-Operations diagram, similar to the Model Builder Diagram capability.

- Ovals are feature classes and rectangles are operations.
