Course Grading: (out of 100 points -- 10 free points are allocated)
Each student will be graded against an absolute scale of 100 points, as allocated below. (Note that 110 points are included in the activities below, thus a student has some room to spare for credit for the course). Students are expected to complete each assignment in a thoughtfully and on time. Students will earn full credit for exemplary products, and credit will be reduced in proportion to deficiencies of products. We plan to map the 100 point scale directly to the 4-point grading scale at the University of Washington. Students earning 100 points or more will earn a 4.0; students earning 90 points from the class work will earn a 3.6; students earning 80 points will earn a 3.2, etc.
Points will be distributed as follows
10 points: Listserv Reading Reflections (~0.5 per class) (due daily, or as assigned) 20 points: Class Participation (1 per class) 10 points: Elicit Preconceptions Exercise (due April 19)
