Yu Xi Xiang: Images of a Sequence of Spaces

The following photographs were taken along a route of lanes and passages between Fu Ren Xiang (Lane of Sufficient Benevolence) and Yu Xi Xiang (Jade Rhinoceros Lane). The sequence passes through the gate, front court and central corridor of an old, large family compound that is now subdivided to house many families. Right: At the start of the route, a small temple at the intersection of Fu Ren Xiang and Xin Fu Hou Xiang (New Palace Rear Lane).
