Guidelines for Parent Conferences
Typically these take place during your last session of the quarter
first half of the session is treatment
last half of the session is conference
You are encouraged to have your conference outlined in simple, visual style
graphs of you data can be very helpful to demonstrate progress
parents can have something to take home with them before the report comes
You need to decide with your supervisor if it is appropriate to have the
client be part of the conference
If old enough, make the client be part of the conference and talk to them
as well as the parent - be very positive!
If too young, arrange to have someone be with the child during your conference
so that neither you nor the parent needs to worry. Provide materials for
the child to engage with.
