| Page contents: | Altered Signage: Clayton Beaudoin, 2004 This photo diary captures urban street signage
and how people alter it. In most cases,
these alterations are simply intended as art and do not impact the effectiveness
of the sign to do its primary job provide information to the public. I believe this to be primarily, if not
exclusively, an urban activity. Where a
rural example might include a well-placed shotgun blast, these urban
demonstrations are attempts at art through humor, political statement or
simply as a way to integrate a public necessity into the community.
