Staking Pipeline Grades
Staking Pipeline Grades
- A- Cut and Fill:
- The center line and an offset line are marked and stationed. The actual profiling and staking are on the offset line, not the CL.
- Using profile leveling method, obtain the ground elevation at each stake, compute the depth of cut or fill to the invert level.
- Mark that depth on the stake side facing the trench, mark the station on the other side of the stake.
- B- Line and grade:
- For precise positioning of the pipe in the trench.
- Batter boards are set after the trench is excavated, but their top elevations are marked on the offset stakes before excavation.
- The batter boards are finally set with their tops horizontal and at the Premark elevations.
- A nail at the pipe centerline is set by measurement from the offset stake.
