ChE355/599 Autumn 06 Grading and Contact Information

The course material will be taught using a combination of lectures, class- and small group discussions, homework and reading assignments, mathematical and numerical modeling problems, laboratory exercises, and some “problem-based” in-class exercises. Graduate students (taking ChemE599) will have extra questions on the exams.

Grading:
10% class participation (small group assignments)
30% individual homework assignments
20% laboratory write-ups
40% take-home exams

Homeworks and tutorials 10 pt ea
Lab reports 20 pt ea
Take home exams 50 pt ea (except graduate students, 60 pt ea)

Late policy: all assignments are due by the end of class (4:30pm) on the due date, after that time they are late; up to 1 day late = 25% off; 2 days late = 50% off; 3 days late = no credit (a day is defined as the 24 hr period starting at 4:30 pm of the due date)
