Description:
Water is a scarce commodity. Many parts of the
world receive little annual rainfall, including much of the developing world.
Jordan has faced the challenge of water scarcity for many generations and is
ranked among the 10 most water-scarce nations in the world. Beginning in the
1950's large water works projects began to modernize the drinking water and
wastewater infrastructure of Jordan, with a main focus on water conservation.
Through these conservation efforts, today Jordan has achieved the lowest per
capita water consumption rate in the world. For this achievement, Jordanian
engineers and scientists have relied on both well established and new
innovations...
