Webpage updates and news:

2012, May10:  Dr. Gough has returned from a planning visit to JUST.  During this visit, details of the program were discussed, several prominent speakers have agreed to participate, and an MOU was signed between UW and JUST stating the universities shared in interest in this program and other collaborations.  Pictures on the website have been updated to include photos taken by Dr. Gough (and others) during the site visit.
2012, May 4:  NSF has indicated its recommendation to partially fund the program.  This funding will allow for increased interactions between students from UW and from JUST.  Final confirmation for this funding is anticipated by the end of the month.
2012, Mar 6:  Application deadline extended.  Missed the deadline? - limited space remains in the program.  Late applications will be judged, in the order received, based on qualifications of the student for the program, as determined by the course instructors.  It is encouraged that applicants contact the lead instructor (Dr. Gough hgough@uw.edu) prior to starting a late application to discuss the review process.
2012, Mar 5:  Application interviews have started with a very high-quality group of applicants.  Congratulations for making it to this step!
2012, Feb 16: Office hours have been established to help answer questions that may occur as we approach the application deadline.  Please select the link for "information sessions" to see the dates and times, or email the course instructor.
2012, Feb 16: Dr. Gough attended a director's workshop yesterday.  Topics covered included travel security, health emergencies, resources for students, health and wellness, helping students cope with stress/distress and many others (plus there were really good brownies!).  Students will have opportunities to attend orientations on these topics after the application process.  In the mean time, feel free to address any questions to Dr. Gough or Tim Cahill.
2012, Jan 30:  A link had been added showing an example recommendation form. This is sent automatically after you have entered the contact information for your references in the electronic application.
2012, Jan 25:  A course listserv has been established.  If you would like to be included, please send your email information to Dr. Gough.  hgough@uw.edu
