Environmental Info

Parametrix report: - this report identifies potential habitat restoration sites along Elliot Bay and the type of habitat that might be appropriate. The city is using this report a lot.

Beach materials - Jeff Parsons refers us to David Finlayson's webpage. "In Figure 3, which is a typical/idealized cross-section, the loose pebbles on the top of the of the profile are often somewhat angular 1-5 mm pebbles, often with alot of shells and shell pieces. The cobble lag is made of large 1-3" in diameter round stones. These are rocks originally from the Fraser River (BC) valley. They are rounded by Fraser River and its tributaries. Mineralogically they are very diverse. The low tide terrace often is covered with a thin veneer of sand and even mud at times. This is where eel grass grows best, but there is also often crabs, starfish, etc."

State of the Sound report

Of Orcas And Otters - how the depletion of one species sends a chain reaction throughout an ecosystem.
