506 is a one credit course designed to build a foundation of knowledge and
understanding of topics in pharmacy and higher education. It is as
discussion-based course, so it is imperative that students complete
assigned weekly readings and assignments and be prepared to discuss their
findings and opinions. Prerequisites: PHARM 421 or permission of instructor. Grading: credit/no credit DisclaimerThis website/syllabus is a "living, breathing" entity and will be used frequently throughout the quarter. The educational and student-led nature of the course lends itself to flexibility in scheduling and assessment of course activities. Course faculty may add, remove, and/or modify portions of it at any time. Students will be notified when changes are made. Education PhilosophyThis course was designed on the assumptions that students want to learn about pharmacy education, will actively participate in learning activities, and work to achieve their potential. In turn, the course faculty will create a learning environment to facilitate operationalization of this philosophy. |
