Project: Geology and Tourism on the South England Coast

Student: Jennifer Ripatti

PROJECT SUMMARY
The tourism in England starts with its local and regional geology. Whether its naturally made harbors, coves, or beaches, geology has created some of the world's most beautiful places along the South coast of England. People flock to these beautiful, naturally created areas. The harbors, coves, and beaches have all developed towns with a large tourist industry related to these magnificent geological features. Geology affects every aspect of tourism. This paper is an analysis of the Jurassic coast, its towns, and how its geology relates to tourism. Starting from Swanage west to Exmouth a journey is documented, researched, and put together to provide education to any reader. After reading this analysis it should be understood how geology and tourism in South England coexist.
