Moscow State University was founded in 1755 and is one of Russia's oldest educational institutions. It was named for Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov in 1940. Today, MSU offers education in almost all branches of modern science and humanities.

The University of Washington Tacoma was founded in 1990 and moved to its permanent location on Commerce Street and Pacific Avenue in 1997. UWT exclusively catered to students transferring from community college campuses until Autumn 2006, when it accepted its first Freshman class.
