UNIVERSITY AVENUE NE, SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

The University District Chamber of Commerce and local businesses along University Way NE (“The Ave”), Seattle, commissioned students to create individual public sculptures in the light post banner frames above the street. Currently there are 41 projects located on The Ave between 40th St. NE and 50th St NE, with more to come in 2008. Each artwork in some way relates to the nature of the business or institution next to it on the street, without becoming advertising.
