| TUKWILA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL|

SPRING 2001

The Tukwila Elementary School project was created by our students and faculty in Sculpture, Industrial Design, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture. The professors involved were Louise St. Pierre, Daniel Winterbottom, Sharon Sutton, and John Young. UW students and faculty worked with school district officials and $20,000 budget from Tukwila's 1% For Art Program to create a 50 foot diameter concrete and mosaic map, earthworks, a "Dr. Suessian" signpost, and bronze pawprints throughout the installation. The children of the school were also actively involved in the design and construction of the project.
