Rendering Features Unique to Stratavision
In addition to being able to animate the motion of a camera, StrataVision includes several other potentially interesting features- the ability to animate portions of the model geometry relative to the whole,
- the ability to place movies ON geomety as a texture (called "rotoscoping"),
- the ability to blend, or 'tween, from one texture to another over time.
This movie was made by first generating an animation of the untextured cube spinninng on the base. That animation was saved as an intermediate QuickTime movie file. The intermediate movie was then applied as a texture (a process called "Rotoscoping") to the small cube in the background of this movie, and two different textures were applied to the spinning cube, at different times.
This movie should also serve as a reminder that Stratavision applies edits, including texturing, by orienting them to the picture plane (check the mortar lines on the cube).
