ARCH 481: 3D Modeling and Rendering, University of Washington, Department of Architecture

Glossary

Instructor: Brian Johnson, Autumn Quarter, 2015

This glossary is being replaced by the more extensive listing in the Tapestry here.

While each program presents a different set of features and interface options, the underlying technology of computer graphics involves a variety of different concepts and terms, many of which find their way into user manuals and menu choices. In order to take total control of the application, it is necessary to understand what and how it is operating. One way to do this is through the terminology of the profession.

As an aid to your understanding, definitions of a number of those terms are presented here.

SUGGESTED ADDITIONS
