I thought this was a good film as a whole. There are a lot of little tweaks that I would have liked to have been able to do to refine it a bit more. I enjoyed fleshing this out and I really wanted to make a sci-fi movie in the vein of “Chronicle,” which we pulled off pretty successfully.

  2. I’m largely very satisfied with how this project turned out. Some of the exterior footage is unrecoverably overexposed but that was instructive in teaching me how important proper exposure is at the time of production. I thought I needed to overexpose a little bit shooting in the super flat Cinestyle picture style on my Canon T2i, but now I know that the tone after applying the associated LUT is much closer to the original in-camera result than I thought. And overexposing a lot is not a good look.
A couple of quiet places would have benefited from filler sound or music, but in others it gives some nice space.
This is a very good result from how experienced Dylan and I were coming into the project and I look forward to taking the lessons learned from all stages of its production onto future endeavors.

Nice job of continuity editing, especially with the scene where she is taking documentary video on the couch. You have the shot over her shoulder and cut to her doing self docs on her handheld camera. Nice work.
