Block 07: Between Brooklyn Ave. NE and University Way NE, and NE 45th St. and NE 43rd St.
Each and every place in the city has a history. From the smallest parking lot to the largest factory, each tells their own story, and each story is unique. In this exhibit there will be analysis on the ebbs and flow of the larger Seattle area, to a single business in that flow, and this will feature just a small piece of the story of Seattle, and more specifically the story of the University District. The site will dive into the history of a block that is defined by its small businesses and consumerism. The site will also talk about how large American trends such as World War II contribute to some of the important developments within the block. There are so many small nuances in these American trends that completely change the way that a block in the city develops and this exhibit will examine those changes.
