Intro by Loren Pickard

Welcome to a small look into the greater history of the University District in Seattle, Washington! Through many weeks of work, I have been researching different aspects of a certain block in this neighborhood. As you will see through my various site reports, I have looked at everything from census reports to planning documents. I did all the hard work so you don’t have to, and you can just sit back and read a little more about my colorful block. What started as a patch of grass quickly turned into a hub for veterans after World War 1, and then a block with an abandoned parking lot at one end and an international theatre at the other.
