Block 66
The only organization on Block 66 was the University Height Center, which was situated in an old schoolhouse, with a sign over the doors labelling it University Heights School. The building itself is a large green, three-storied structure building with a red trim along the base. There is parking around the right side of the building. To the left there is a small playground and an open lawn. In front of the schoolhouse there is a garden or a P-patch. There is an iron gate leading to a small open lawn south of the playground. It seems likely that this place would teach classes for either adults or children or provide services for an urban community, although how much it serves the permanent community beyond university students is unknown. Surrounding the Center are a number of small businesses and residential homes, and across the street there was what appeared to be apartments under construction, which may have something to do with the proposed rezoning of the University District. It seems to be maintained better than other blocks on or near the Ave.
