John Rousseau received his Master's Degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work has been recognized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the American Center for Design 100 Show, and the Type Directors Club. Prior to joining the University faculty in 2001, he operated his own design practice in Chicago, Illinois specializing in corporate identity, print and digital communications for a diverse selection of clients-from global, Fortune 500 companies to local start-ups. Additionally, his professional work continues to be informed by ongoing experimental research exploring critical theory relative to design process.
