Trip to Kingston
On Saturday, February 5th, the CANE of the BJCANE team took a trip to Kingston to visit Rich Rudman and to help him set up his dynamometer, or dyno for short. The dyno, once its fully functional, will help us take motor statistics so that we can calculate theoretical performance of our car. With the dyno measurements we will be able to construct amp vs. torque curves and voltage vs. RPM charts which we can use to calculate the acceleration of the car and pinpoint the shift points for maximum performance. Below are some pictures from our trip and a small video clip.

Nick, Alex and Rich check out the dyno action.
The dyno has a beefy frame so that it does not lift off the ground at high torque levels.
The dyno uses another 8 inch motor as a generator to counter the motor being tested.
