hdrscope

In order to install hdrscope in your Windows PC, please ensure that the pre-requisite software are installed prior to running the setup.exe file.

Pre-requisites
- Windows Vista with SP2 or Window 7 with SP1 with all software updates installed. hdrscope relies on many OS files that are installed during some Microsoft software updates and hence will not work if the OS is not updated.
- Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package with SP1 installed (usually through OS updates)
- .NET Framework 4.0 or above and corresponding updates from Microsoft (usually through OS updates)
- Windows binaries of Radiance installed and corresponding user environment variables must be set in %PATH% and %RAYPATH%
- hdrscope performs glare analysis using "evalglare" program. If your computer has an already installed version of evalglare (for eg. from Daysim) and has an environment variable set in %PATH%, hdrscope installation will over-ride this variable. All future runs of evalglare program will pick the hdrscope version of evalglare which is bundled in the setup file. This version of evalglare is the most recent binary available from the website. Should you wish to update the evalglare program, please copy and replace the evalglare.exe file under the hdrscope installation or set the %PATH% to the new version of Evalglare before the hdrscope PATH in the environment variables.
- Graphics hardware (discrete or integrated) capable of supporting Windows Aero. hdrscope requires Windows Aero to be enabled for certain functions to display correctly.

Camera Dependencies Installation
- hdrscope supports Canon Digital SLR camera remote control features through the Canon SDK
- Supported Canon cameras include those that were released since 2007 (although the software has been tested with Canon EOS 30D and Canon EOS 5d Mark II).
- Remote control and capture requires libraries and application files that are available for download in the Canon developers website .
- The required files for the camera remote connection and capture feature are the EDSDK 2.10 for Windows. The library files (.lib and .dll) location must be included in a system environment %PATH% variable OR copied to the hdrscope installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\hdrscope)
- The camera connection mode must be set to Print/PTP
- Note that some Canon cameras may require a compatible driver although most are Plug-and-play with Windows 7.
- hdrscope is programmed to modify only the camera F-number and Shutter speed values. All other capture specific parameters such as ISO, White-balance etc. need to be set prior to capture.
