Introduction

Block 13 or known as the location between 11th ave. NE and 12th Ave. NE and NE 43rd St. and NE 42nd St. is one of many alleyways of the U District. The U Districit is home to many residences to who live nearby, but, it is mostly likely home to students of University of Washington. While, there are many histories beneath University of Washington, the history of block 13 is fairly small, but yet, great history that is often hidden based on location. Block 13 has always been an area for families residences back to the 1930s. It still contains all of the original buildings in its block. The block is currently has one construction going on, however, that current construction took over two houses and creating a seven ft tall apartment building. Which is probably the most development that the block has ever encounter besides remodeling the roadways which still contains cracks over the years. Thus, by having an new development occur in the Univeristy District, it is not changing the full history of block 13, but, rather adding more histories to its name.
